Kidney Infections and Too Much Free Time
So, here I am, sitting in bed during the middle of the week. I have not been to work in two days, and can't return until friday. I also didn't go to class tonight. Why you ask? Because, I have been restricted to my bed due to a kidney infection. Talk about pain! This is the worst pain I have felt in my life so far. Constant, stabbing, aching pain in my mid/lower back. And, to top it off, nausea that continues to persist no matter how much I beg it to go away. I can not sit or lay in a position long enough to feel relief. I'm gonna cry soon if it doesn't go away. Actually, if it doesn't go away by tomorrow I'm supposed to return to the hospital where they'll admit me and I don't do hospitals very well. I'm dying though having nothing to do while stuck at home sick. It's bad enough being in pain, but I haven't been away from work for this long in a very long time. My boss called and told me not to return until Friday because I need to rest up and get better. True, but, I also need the money. And I need something to do. And I miss the kids I work with! Ugh. Hurry up kidneys and get better!

A Healthy Change
So I'm sitting here at 10:27 PM obviously not sleeping when I should be. This cold is just too much for me. I wish that I could just put life on hold for a few days until I get better. I did go out today and buy some stuff from the grocery store after work. I have decided to lead a healthier life style. I bought vitamin c tablets and b complex and tons of really healthy foods. I'm pre making my lunches from now on and they're mostly salads and low calorie things. I feel really good about the change I'm making to be a healthier person.
I'm also looking into joining a gym again. I worked out at the UC Davis one last year and felt great! I'm tired of being a lazy bum who eats bad foods. So tomorrow's lunch looks something like that picture up there. It's a salmon salad with avocado, sun dried tomatoes, mixed spring lettuce, croutons, and mushrooms. I have a yummy organic champagne vinaigrette that I'm gonna use too. So tasty! Oh, I'm also just buying enough food for the week and planning out menus before I shop as well. It'll prevent me (or decrease the amount) from buying too many unnecessary impulse goodies. Tonight we had whole wheat pasta with organic tomato alfredo sauce and turkey meatballs. Delicious!
Eating healthy and taking vitamins is something I'm really happy I'm doing. Not just because I want to look and feel great on my wedding day (and getting ready for that takes time), but because it's really a life change I need to make.
A New Chapter
So I was thinking that it's time for a change. With all of these new chapters starting in my life (career, home, engagement, etc) I thought it high time for an upgrade of sorts when it came to the world of internet writing. No more LiveJournal; it's time for something a bit more adult. Goodbye teenage years, hello adult years.
So, in case you haven't heard, I've gotten myself engaged. Exciting, I know. I'm in love with my soul mate. Silly that it took us so many years to admit it to ourselves that we were meant for each other. What waisted time! From friend, to heart ache, to best friend, to boyfriend, to future husband. It's funny what life throws at you.
Speaking of obstacles, we just moved from our amazing downtown condo into his father's apartment. Okay, so not so "adult", but it's saving us a heck of a lot of money (only $72 a month!), which we will be needing for our wedding. Which I have already started planning by the way. It's going to be beautiful. I'm so excited! I think I'm gonna bake something tomorrow if I'm feeling better. Actually, scratch that, I really shouldn't. Too sick. Working at a toddler/preschool center is really taking its toll on my less than stellar immune system. Someone please remind me to buy some Emergen-C stuff or however you spell it.
Well, I should really be trying to get my sleep so that I can get better sooner. So much to do and so little free time! Oh! Also, someone remind me to unpack the rest of these boxes cluttering our room. I think I'll do that Friday, if I get the day off after talking with the wedding coordinator at The Inn at Morro Bay.
